This is THE course where you learn how to using your different kind of flashes, from pop-up flashes to studio flashes. Master the full usage of your flash and never be afraid of it anymore!
Learn how to use your flash mounted on your camera and also away from your camera, remotely. You will also learn how to make the best out of your camera's pop-up flash. You will also be learning how to get amazing results simply by using on of modern flashes most powerful feature, the TTL mode.
 Learn the professionals' secret tricks of how to use TTL flash to easily increase the exposure of your photos without those dreaded tell-tale signs of using flashes... No more hard shadows and no more burnt highlights on the forehead and cheeks.
You would have frequently heard of many professional photographers claiming that they shoot their outdoor photo assignments with up to 5 units of Nikon hot-shoe flashes! How do they do it? What is the result?
This course introduces one of the industry's hottest and most popular flash technique: Remote flash photography technique. (This workshop do not limit the usage to only Nikon's CLS, but we will share with you how to make your flash, of any brand, to trigger remotely.)
The cool part about using Flash is that it is SO easy. As long as you understand the FIVE fundamental core theories. Photos below shows our Pro Trainer, Andrew Boey explaining in class how to control your hot-shoe flash.

In this class, participants will learn:
- learn the FIVE most important Flash & Lighting Theories in photography.
- the differences between pop-up flash and hotshoe flashes. What are their differences? Which one should you buy?
- the basics of how using hot-shoe flashes' i-TTL, eTTL, TTL, Manual & wireless modes.
- Understand what is FP and BL modes of your Nikon flashes.
- learn how to control your flash(es) remotely when they are not mounted on your camera.
- discover the benefits of using wireless or remote flashes.
- understand the limitations of using wireless flashes.
- learn how to set-up professional studio flashes (eg: using Profoto, Elinchrom and Broncolor studio flashes)
- learn how to effectively use the hot-shoe flash's zooming features
- learn flash power values and how to efficiently control them from your Nikon cameras.
- tips and tricks to shoot commercial-worthy studio photos using 1 to 4 units of flashes.
- outdoor flash photography techniques using flash. (learn how to meter exposure using your flash like a professional)
- using wireless, radio-trigger and optical-trigger in studio photography.
- learn hi-key and low-key lighting techniques.
- How to use color gels, color filters, brollies, gobo and various snoots to achieve unbelievable lighting results.
- Indoor/studio and outdoor model shooting session.
- optimising your hot-shoe flashes to work with other camera models. We will teach you how to achieve studio quality photos using various brands of hot-shoe flashes
- you will learn how to effectively hack your flash set-ups to achieve indoor and outdoor professional quality studio lights.
And upon learning all these theories, you will be exposed to a good 3 hours on hands-on practical session both in our huge studio and also using flash outdoor (yes, master and understand why you should use flash even on a bright day).
In-door studio practical session. You will learn how to convert and 'hack' your lights to produce lights as good as expensive studio lights. (We have large and spacious studio in KL academy)
