The World of Horse Racing
Nikonian Academy, your favorite photography academy, is proud to bring you a very unique photography session, The World of Horse Racing. Teaming with one of Malaysia's most famous racecourse, Selangor Turf Club, you can be assured of a fun-filled day.
This is indeed a rare workshop, which is put together for the first time exclusively for our members and the outing will grant you access to the rare corners of one of Malaysia¡¯s oldest and premier racing clubs.
The afternoon excursion will cover restricted areas like the racetracks, the conduct of horse racing and more.
The Horse Expression - Do you know when the Horse gallops, it is one of the fastest, the most exciting and the power comes from the horse stretched out body, neck and head. At times all four feet are off the ground!
This is also a unique area of photography, which promises a lucrative income; after all the horse owners are made up of prominent and people of stature.
- sports and high-speed photography
- learn the secret of high-speed auto-focusing when trying to capture these lovely race-horses as they gallop on the racetracks
- learn how to keep your subject (s) sharp even with such intense movements
- learn how to capture the emotions of the winning jockeys, the horse owners and the winning fans (and also, perhaps, the expression of the losers)
- learn how to capture the liveliness of the whole racecourse
- learn the glossaries and 'dos-and-don'ts' in horse racing sports and horse racing photography (saying or doing the wrong things are not something you want when given such a similar real-life assignments in racecourses around the world, would you?)
And above all, enjoy a scrumptious buffet lunch at Selangor Turf Club (this workshop includes a buffet lunch).
If you're thinking that you would be shooting the photos of horse racing from the spectator's stand. You got it all wrong! For the value of only RM 249, you will get extensive privileges in terms of shooting location. For example, participants will be able to shoot close to the starting gate (toughest to shoot but rewarded with very fascinating photos) and the 500m mark of the track where all the horses will be seen galloping towards you.
Not only that, we will also be able to capture shots of fired up horses when the jockeys whip their horses to get the race really going at the whipping mark and another photographer's favourite location, the finishing post. Participants will also be able to access the scaling room which will see jockeys being weighed before the race begins and also both the parade ring and winner's parade where we will be able to take beautiful shots of horses being paraded before the race and when the winning horse is paraded gloriously upon its win.
